REGARDING ATTENDANCE:
1. If you are going to be LATE or OUT make sure you notify ME (214) 834-8770 AS WELL AS YOUR PARTNER (I may have someone wanting to do a make-up class who is waiting to hear from me). If you are not going to be on time, your partner can double-up with someone else the first half IF THEY KNOW IN ADVANCE.
2. Be on time. 12:30 for days and 5:30 for evenings. This is prep time and is part of class. The only acceptable reason to be late is an audition or booking. (do not schedule doctors, plumbers, etc. during class times)
3. If you are late, but arrive before class begins, you cannot have additional prep time outside. If you are late and class has begun, you can work in the second half. This may greatly upset your partner! (I will no longer continue to critique unprepared actors. It's a waste of time.)
4. The 5 minute bell lets you know we will BEGIN in 5 minutes. Please do not leave your seat during class unless it's an emergency. It's very disruptive. There is a 15 minute break about an hour and a half into class. There is one bell to begin the second half of class (no 5 minute bell)
5. On memorized class days if you don't have anything memorized you cannot work. The only exception is if you & your partner have an especially important scene you don't want to do with anyone else, and your partner cannot make class at the last minute. Always show up to memorized class with a memorized scene EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO PARTNER. Someone will read with you.
For those of you who have trouble getting your partner to return your calls regarding picking a scene for memorization, please notify me immediately. You should have at least 3 to 4 days to prepare.
6.There are ONLY six acceptable reasons to miss a class. a) an audition, b) a booking, c) you're ill, d) a pre-planned vacation, e) a sick child or loved one, d) you are dead. Do not come to class if you are sick! You will be fined $20 and sent home.
7. You must sit in a chair during class, unless you have a medical condition, then you can sit on the couch. You cannot successfully see your fellow actor's film work from the back of the room.
8. If late, NEVER enter during a scene. Look through the window in the door before entering. |
PAYMENT:
1. Effective immediately no one can participate in a class that they have not paid for. In other words, if you do not have your checkbook with you on the day money is due, you can either go to an ATM or you can go home. Late payments will incur a $10 late fee and $1.00 a day for every day late. (Don't mess with my money honey. I keep my fees low for you...so pay me on time.)
2. You will need to give me a post-dated check the week before money is ACTUALLY due in order to save your spot for the next four week cycle.
3. If you are having money difficulties and come to me and discuss it IN ADVANCE OF MONEY DAY (not the day of), I will work with you.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR YOU.
